Oppose the Souder Amendment to
Defund NIH Grants!

Congressman Mark Souder (R-IN) is expected to
introduce an amendment to the NIH spending bill that would defund specific NIH
grants related to human sexual behavior. The bill is currently being debated on
floor of the House of Representatives.

As you may recall, last year, a
similar floor amendment was offered, and nearly passed. In a tight election
year, this year’s amendment has an even greater chance at passage. SfN and many
others in the scientific community do not support the politicization of peer
reviewed grants.

SfN urges you to contact your Representative, urging
your legislator to oppose the Souder amendment.
